It was his knowledge and experience in the fashion world that gave photographer turned designer, Michael Castillo the inspiration to found Cielo Rosso with partner, entertainment veteran Rick Hettish in 2011. In designing suits for Cielo Rosso, Michael wanted to design a suit that didn't fall apart or go out of style in a year, but rather could be worn as a summer staple for years to come. It was then that Michael turned to longtime friend and luxury spa extraordinaire, Darcie DeBartelo. "I wanted something original to save the elasticity of the suits I was designing. It was Darcie with her luxury spa background that fashioned the idea of Cielo Rosso Swimsuit Bath™," exclaims Michael. Michael's designs for Cielo Rosso are creative, untraditional, and hail attention to detail, fit and comfort all the while portraying an overall simplistic style that is nothing shy of sexy and fun.
With 18 years experience directing and developing treatment menus and signature product lines for several five star/five diamond resorts and spas around the country, Darcie DeBartelo is the Director of Spa at the renowned Halele'a Spa at the St. Regis Princeville Resort in Kauai, Hawaii. Prior Darcie designed and opened three luxury spas, the Spa at Catamaran Resort in San Diego, CA, The Spa at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA and Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles, NY. Darcie was also the Spa Director at The Spa at Trump Chicago and Corporate Spa Director for Evans Hotels.
