An exclusive license agreement has been reached between SWEET SOUL RECORDS and Shirma Rouse Music allowing Japan distribution of Shirma's debut album, "Chocolate Coated Dreams," in both physical and digital formats.
- (1888PressRelease) February 28, 2012 - Tokyo, Japan: Today, SWEET SOUL RECORDS, parent company lifesound, Inc., officially announced that an agreement has been reached with Shirma Rouse Music for nationwide distribution of Shirma Rouse's album "Chocolate Coated Dreams."
"Chocolate Coated Dreams," set for release on March 14th in partnership with BBQ Records, contains 12 previously released tracks and three Japan-exclusive bonus tracks which will take you back to those sweet old school Motown days. Known for her ability to bring life into any song, you can trust that Shirma will raise the roof when it comes to funk, jazz and soulful tunes.
Born on the island of Curacao and raised on the island of St. Eustatius, it is in the Netherlands where Shirma would build her 10 year musical career.
Her introduction to the Dutch music scene kicked off when she was asked to become a backing vocalist for the group Tasha's World, moving on to performing, recording and touring with a wide range of artists from every genre. The list is long, but Shirma has definitely captivated many with her amazing vocals, having worked with the likes of Anouk, Chaka Khan, Michael Bolton, Intwine, Extince, Candy Dulfer, Alain Clark, Randal Corsen, Tribute 2 Bob Marley, Margriet Sjoerdsma, Michelle David, Carlo de Wijs, and many more over the years.
"Chocolate Coated Dreams," is an independent project by Shirma, a goal of hers towards the next step in her music career. When asked; "What's next?" Shirma responds; "I just want to perform! It's about sharing the music..." The album was recorded and co-written with Salle de Jonge and Bas van der Wal, recorded in Marmalade and Mokosound studios in the Netherlands, and mixed at Mokosound studios. Mastering was done by Chris Gehringer for Sterling Sound Studio in New York.
"Chocolate Coated Dreams" will be released in Japan by SWEET SOUL RECORDS on March 14, 2012.
