Swedish World Music Artist Malou Berg Releases Christmas Album "Breathe Out"
Breathe Out -- the latest release from Swedish World Music vocalist Malou Berg will be available on ITunes November 8th on Malou Berg ProSongs AB. On her latest release, Berg celebrates the spirit of Christmas in her own unique, evocative musical style.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 16, 2011 - Featuring lyrics in English, Swedish as well as her self-created language, Pleiadian - Berg's inspired songs and heartbreakingly beautiful vocals offer up a nontraditional Christmas release of peace, calm and relaxation certain to delight music fans around the globe.
Breathe Out was produced by world class, engineer and producer Lars Nilsson and Malou Berg and partially arranged by Tormod Tvete Vik. Recorded at Nilento Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, the album features reimagined and remixed songs from Berg's critically acclaimed releases Hoya, Omine, Amaona and Alignment -- which together comprise Berg's "Pleiadian Suite."
"We remixed the music, stripped the songs of their original arrangements, and added a huge string ensemble, harp and light percussion," says Berg. "We kept my vocals and the choir (the choir was expanded on a couple of songs to get an even better sound) as originally recorded and the language that nobody understands is still there..."
The opening track "Omine" features a glorious choir and delicate orchestration, which lift up Berg's soaring vocals. Originally found on Berg's 2005 release of the same name, the song "Omine" previously won the prestigious UK Songwriting Contest in the "Miscellaneous" category in 2006.
The gentle acoustic guitars, lush string arrangements and angelic harps found on the title track "Breathe Out" give the listener a sense of musical joy, serenity and comfort. While the stripped down version of the title track from Berg's 2004 release Hoya - replaces the didgeridoos, rhythmic percussion and whistles found on the original version with flugelhorn, delicate hand percussion and seasonal bells.
Breathe Out features one song that does not belong to the Pleiadian Suite. The melodic, inspirational track "Nu Faller ljuset in I Mig" ("Beam of Light") is a reworked version of the title song from Berg's first gospel album released in 1984.
A native of Stockholm, cabaret artist/composer/vocalist Malou Berg has performed on theater stages, and acted in both film and popular television series, and her songs have been covered by a variety of artists.
