Swatch Watches Fan Jessie J Wins Big at 2011 MOBO Awards
Swatch Watch Fan Jessie J scoops 4 Mobo awards.
- (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2011 - Jessie J, one of the biggest new pop stars to top the charts in 2011, was the success story of this year's MOBO Awards.
The chart-topping 'Nobody's Perfect' singer, who has previously sported Swatch watches as part of her iconic style, won four of the five categories in which she was nominated.
The singer attended the awards ceremony and performed smash hit 'Do It Like a Dude' at the start of the show, which took place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on Wednesday 05 October 2011.
Jessie J's MOBOs domination saw her win Best UK Act, Best Newcomer, Best Song (for 'Do It Like a Dude') and Best Album (for 'Who You Are'). The only award she missed out on was 'Best Video', which went instead to Tinchy Stryder and Dappy.
All winners were chosen by public vote. Also honoured on the night was Adele, who won Best R&B/Soul Act, and Best International Star Rihanna.
An emotional tribute to the late Amy Winehouse was also carried out by the singer's goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, who performed Amy's torch song 'Love is a Losing Game'.
Hosted by US star Jason Derulo and singer Alesha Dixon, the 2011 MOBOs were also attended by the likes of JLS, Tinie Tempah, Professor Green and Ms Dynamite.
Jessie J was seen wearing not one but four Swatch watches in the video to her recent single 'Who's Laughing Now'. She joins fellow R'n'B-influenced chart stars such as Chris Brown and Keri Hilson in wearing the popular watch brand.
