Sure Travel Sponsors Miss Deaf Sa's Trip To Las Vegas
Sure Travel and its Bloemfontein agent have thrown their support behind Miss Deaf SA, Vicki Fourie, sponsoring her in her attempt to win the Miss Deaf International pageant in July in Las Vegas.
- (1888PressRelease) August 25, 2010 - Corporate sponsorship of the disabled community in South Africa is vital, providing much needed financial and promotional support for a group of people who are often not regarded with the national prominence that they require and deserve. Fourie agrees with this sentiment, and is grateful to Sure Travel for their support.
"All the sponsorships I receive are greatly appreciated, and Sure Travel's support makes me feel secure in the knowledge that I will arrive at the pageant in safety and in comfort. Their wholehearted support is certainly a major boost in my attempt to win the title for South Africa," she says.
Sure Travel CEO Vanya Lessing says that Sure Travel is proud to support Fourie, and has every confidence that she will serve South Africa with distinction during the pageant. "Vicki is an absolute credit, not only to South Africa, but to the deaf community as well. With consummate beauty, grace and intelligence, she is sure to shine in Las Vegas, adding to a long line of people who have represented South Africa at international pageants with glory and prestige. Sure Travel is proud to be associated with such an outstanding individual," she says.
Lessing notes that Sure Travel is determined to extend it's parameters as a travel company by committing itself to worthwhile social causes such as those involving the deaf community.
"The deaf community is as much an integral part of South Africa as any other community and we are glad and privileged that we are able to assist in their participation in high-profile events such as Miss Deaf International," she says.
Fourie was crowned as Miss Deaf SA last year. She says that the first time she became at ease with her impairment was at 14 years old, when she survived a shooting. Subsequently, she realised that her impairment was inconsequential compared to the fact that she was still alive, and this has ultimately made her more compassionate and sensitive towards others.
She also states that her deaf status does not define her as a person. "It's impossible to turn my back on my hearing disability, because it is shaped me into the person I am today," she says.
"We wish Vicki only the very best for her trip and look forward to seeing her bring home the crown," concludes Lessing.
Having overcome much adversity in life, and armed with the dual weapons of brains and beauty, Fourie is primed to represent her country with distinction at the pageant. Sure Travel's constant support will also help ensure that the sky is the limit for this blonde beauty.
