Super Hero Fashion Show Supports Cancer Survivors
A unique event that creates awareness, showcases talent, raises money and changes lives. This will mark an end to our month long breast cancer awareness campaign - smitober.
- Lynchburg, VA (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2014 - The Sylvain Melloul International Hair Academy is excited to announce that they will be hosting a fashion show on Saturday November 1.
"Our students have been preparing for this event for several weeks. We have spent the past month focusing on raising awareness for local cancer survivors and this will be our final event for our campaign. We hope that those who are currently battling the disease will have the courage and strength to combat cancer. We will have several survivors in attendance who inspire with their positivity and perseverance to combat a scary disease," Joseph Melloul, event host.
The event will take place at River Ridge Mall, next to Macy's; at 6:30 p.m. Students will be showcasing their cosmetology skills and techniques. The theme for the event is super hero alter ego as cancer survivors are just as courageous as super heroes. Last year the fundraising event raised over $2500 towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, however, this year's goal is an ambitious $5000 towards the Centra Pearson Regional Cancer Patient Support Fund. This will be the final event to the long breast cancer awareness campaign for Smitober. http://smiha.edu/site/blogs/?p=481.
