Super Bowl Champion, Jarvis Green, Talks Confidence, Challenging Yourself And The Problem With Comfort In The Context Of Black Lives Matter Movement
Green Shares How the Complacency of Comfort Can Be the Biggest Enemy of Progress.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2020 - Suzanne Sena, entrepreneur, Emmy-nominated TV host and journalist, interviews Jarvis Green, in the upcoming episode of her podcast “The Confidence Connection with Suzanne Sena.” In the interview, Green reflects on his experience as an SEC football star, a fourth-round NFL draft pick, a professional athlete, a champion and a black man in America, providing insight into his particularly unique perspective on the Black Lives Matter movement as he has a sister in law enforcement while his brother is a retired officer after 19 years on the job. Meanwhile, he himself is a deputy. Green goes on to weigh in on crowd-less professional sports in the era of the Coronavirus. Additionally, he dissects his keys to success and how they led him to the NFL, and ultimately, the Super Bowl. Green then goes into how he implements those same keys into his professional and daily life. This episode is available on Apple Podcasts and all other major platforms.
“Get out of that comfort zone,” says Green. “Most of us don’t want to get out because it’s a smooth sailing ship, it doesn’t shake, the temperature is just right. The comfort zone? Nobody wins. You don’t learn in the comfort zone.”
After spending eight years as a defensive end in the NFL, Green, who wore number 97, started his own shrimp and seafood supply company, Oceans 97, in 2015. He goes on to reveal how two years working in a New Orleans shrimp house inspired him to start Oceans 97 and how he went from start-up to wholesale shrimp supplier for Whole Foods, Stop and Shop, Walmart and many restaurants on the east coast.
