Sun Country Cleaners Named Woman Or Minority Owned Outstanding Business Of The Year
Tampa Bay area dry cleaning company honored by the St. Petersburg Area Chamber in Wednesday night's award ceremony.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) July 06, 2010 - Wednesday night at the St. Petersburg Area Chamber Outstanding Business of the Year Awards Ceremony, Sun Country Cleaners was named "Woman or Minority Owned and Operated Business of the Year." Owners and sisters Susan and Barbara McCarthy accepted the award in front of a sold out crowd at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront.
"We are thrilled to receive the St. Petersburg Chamber Business of the Year Award and to be here representing our industry," said Barbara McCarthy. "Our team is tremendous and is the number one reason that we can continue to grow even in today's economy; a group of ordinary people successfully working together in both business and life."
Additionally, Sun Country Cleaners was also named a runner up for "Business of the Year with 101 or More Employees."
This award is yet another accolade the sisters can add to a successful year at Sun Country Cleaners. In March of 2010, they were honored as the winners of the North American Enterprising Women of the Year award given by the Enterprising Women Association. In April, they announced the purchase of seven more stores, increasing their total enterprise to 28 stores in Pinellas County.
Credit must be given to those who have helped to educate them professionally, they say.
