Summit Gathered Senior Government & Industry Representatives from Across North Africa & Beyond to Discuss Investment Opportunities

"Our hydrocarbon law is being reviewed by experts to offer a new law...that will be more attractive from a contractual point of view, the new law will also cover unconventional resources [as previous the one didn't]," said Mustafa Sanalla, Board Member for Production & Planning of NOC Libya, at the North Africa Gas Summit.
The North Africa Gas Summit saw attendees from among others, Sonatrach, NOC Libya, ETAP, Repsol, Total, OMV and Eni discuss unconventional exploration in the region, gas pricing issues, developing human capital, strategies for meeting domestic as well as international demand and updates on current projects including infrastructure and development projects.

As well as Mustafa Sanalla, Mr Abdelhamid Zerguine, President of Sonatrach also gave a keynote address in which he outlined the plans for road shows over the coming months which will highlight the investment opportunities in Algeria ahead of the upcoming licensing round which is widely expected in 2014.
"The new law will be accompanied by a marketing campaign where we well be seeking new partnerships in exploring unconventional and offshore activity." Mr Zerguine told delegates at the Summit.
The North Africa Summit was co-located with the Lebanon Gas Summit which took place on 24 June in Rome and was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Water and the Petroleum Administration of Lebanon.
