Students Compete at Biggest Canadian Hackathon to Create the Next Great Mobile Game and Win over $50,000 in Cash & Prizes

- (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2011 - Toronto, ON - Over the weekend beginning Friday September 30, students at over 20 colleges and universities across Canada will be racing against the clock to create the next hit mobile game in under 48 hours. Presented by XMG Studio and the National Post, the Great Canadian Appathon Squared will give students the opportunity to win over $50,000 in cash and prizes, get their game published and even win a chance at a job in the games industry at XMG Studio.

Great Canadian Appathon Squared: 48-hour event where college and university students compete to create the next great mobile game.

Where:
Coding "HUBS" have been arranged at Acadia University, University of British Columbia, Brock University, University of Calgary, Carleton University, Concordia University, École Polytechnique de Montreal, University of Guelph, Humber College, University of New Brunswick, The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Nova Scotia Community College, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, University of PEI, University of Regina, Ryerson DMZ, University of Saskatchewan, triOS College, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and York University. "HUBS" will provide a location for student coders to tap into the expertise of industry leading developers and fuel their creativity on NOS energy drinks.
