Student Action film TEARS AT DAWN to screen at Oscar/BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts Fest
"Tears At Dawn", a cult action short by Austin,TX based filmmaker Jordan Kerfeld, will be screening at the Oscar & BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts Fest, one of the most prestigious short film festivals in the world. It is his graduate thesis film at the University of Texas at Austin.

The festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Those who have been honored at the festival include directors, Paul Haggis, Bryan Singer, Jan de Bont, Shane Black, Jon Favreau and actors Gary Oldman, James Woods and Martin Landau. Many recognized actors and directors have screened films and attended the festival such as Scarlett Johansson, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Courteney Cox, Tim Burton, Jason Reitman, Terry Gilliam, Spike Jonze, Eva Mendes, Jessica Biel, Rachel Weisz, Hilary Swank, Josh Brolin, Kirsten Dunst, Rita Wilson and Vin Diesel. Over the past 17 years, 44 participating filmmakers have earned Academy Award nominations, with 13 filmmakers actually taking home the Oscar.

ABOUT THE FILM:
After two successful tours in the Middle East where he received training in the deadly hand-to-hand combat of Kali and Escrima, Force Recon Marine Corpsman Arthur Orange finds himself adjusting to the domestic life with his little sister Mya. When she sneaks out to get ice cream and is subsequently kidnapped, Arthur must venture out for a turbulent night of blood, sweat and tears to return her to safety. TEARS AT DAWN is a candy-colored thrill ride about one man's quest to re-unite his family by any means necessary.
