Stuart Smith revives the art of Rock Music with Heaven and Earth's Dig
With a career in creating the sounds that rock radio has cherished for more than 3 decades, the new CD by Smith's Heaven and Earth brings a classic sound back to FM rock radio.
- (1888PressRelease) July 02, 2013 - Los Angeles, CA: Offering a steady stream of recordings and performances with idols in rock music, Stuart Smith has been seen and heard alongside artists including Keith Emerson (ELP), Robbie Wykoff (Roger Waters), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Kelly Hansen (Foreigner) and Tony Franklin (Blue Murder) to name a few. With two internationally released Heaven and Earth recordings under his belt, 2013's "Dig" captures the magic of FM rock radio once again with an all-star lineup of industry pro's on board, as seen and heard at www.heavenandearthband.com.
Previous Heaven and Earth CDs have been a delight for rock music fans, as the line-up recording and performing has always been a who's who from the rock genre. Artists performing Smith's songs have always been from the cornerstone of the recording industry; time tested artists that bring throngs of fans to the front of the stage, and have been doing this since the 1970's. "Dig" is exactly what fans expect from Smith's previous works.
The twelve tracks on "Dig" make this CD an absolute monster! Offering the solid power of classic rock style in the vein of long standing talents like Bad Company and Deep Purple, it's no wonder the video release of the song "No Money, No Love" hit 50,000 views in the first few weeks on YouTube and continues to climb. The band includes artists that have been the sensation of MTV since it's inception. Chuck Wright on bass guitar has been a founding member of bands including House of Lords and Guiffria and wrote and recorded the famous bass line as heard in rock's biggest hit "Metal Health" by Quiet Riot. Drummer Richie Onori was hand picked to drum for iconic legends Sweet alongside Smith and provided the beat that kicks this album forward. Vocalist Joe Retta, who also performed with Smith in Sweet has long been a sought after and respected vocalist in Los Angeles and is a key element in making this 3rd release by the band the shining gem in the collection.
Fans have unanimously responded on the social network claiming, "This album represents something that has been missing far too long on FM radio. Rock and roll is back with a vengeance!"
Smith released the CD in April of 2013 with a thunderous performance at the famed Fonda Theater in Hollywood to a sold out capacity crowd. Another veritable who's who of rock and roll was seen throughout the crowd as members of current performing rock acts including Great White, Lynch Mob, Boston and the legendary tribute to hard rock Platinum Rockstars were in attendance. Pro-shot video from the performance is available for viewing on YouTube through traditional searching. (Keywords: Heaven and Earth - Fonda Theater).
Guitar International shares, "Tapping into the methodology of old-school rock with a new-school attitude, Heaven & Earth are shaking their classic rock roots down to the very core on their newest effort, Dig. Fusing together elements of hard rock, blues and even bits of classical, Heaven & Earth create a potent blend of high-powered anthems, melodic rockers and introspective ballads that evoke the spirit of a magical era."
FM radio's response to "Dig" has been a strong improvement to how the classic rock style has been received in the past. Gaining interest from local disc jockeys across the US, airplay has spurred a deeper interest from rock music fans that first thought it was a classic rock act they'd missed, but were inspired in learning that this is a new sound in today's FM radio rock.
Internet radio is all-the-buzz over "Dig's" release, garnering consistent spins on AllHardRock.com, interviews in specialty rock radio markets and exceedingly positive reviews throughout the blogsphere and in long standing rock news providers like Blabbermouth, My Global Mind and Hard Rock Haven.
