- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) September 16, 2011 - Data security expert Erin Nealy Cox of Stroz Friedberg LLC is serving as a featured panelist on data breach trends at the International Association of Privacy Professional's (IAPP) national "Privacy Academy" this week in Dallas.
Ms. Nealy Cox, executive managing director and deputy general counsel at Stroz Friedberg, will take part in an expert panel on the lessons learned from companies that have experienced significant data breaches. Other distinguished speakers include Heartland Payment Systems general counsel Charles Kallenbach and Ropes & Gray LLP partner Mark Szpak.
All three panelists for "Data Breach - Help Your Company Avoid Being a Victim of Compromise" had direct experience responding to the January 2009 breach of Heartland Payment Systems. Since then, Heartland Payment Systems has emerged as an industry leader in implementing measures to prevent computer attacks and to effectively respond when they occur.
"Business leaders can learn a great deal from the real-world experiences of others," says Ms. Nealy Cox. "Every business today should be thinking about data security and making sure digital assets are protected."
The IAPP Privacy Academy will be held Wednesday through Friday, September 14-16, at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. The gathering of data security and privacy professionals includes some of the industry's leading experts and thought leaders, including keynote speakers FTC Commissioner Julie Brill and Electronic Privacy Information Center president Marc Rotenberg.
