Portraying the common man, a beautiful photo exhibition by internationally acclaimed commercial photographer GarySchmid titled 'Streets of India'opened today at Corp Executive Hotel Apartments - Al Barsha - Dubai.
- (1888PressRelease) April 02, 2012 - The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr Sanjay Verma, the Consul General of India and will run until April 11, 2012.On display are 30 striking photographs showing the many facets of life on Indian streets.
Gary, who belongs to Austria, captured life as it happened on Indian lanes and bylanes during his recent trip to the country. His incredible collection charts day to day life as he travelled from Jaipur to Agra, Varanasi and Delhi. Gary said, "India is perhaps the most photographed country in the world, and yet it continues to fascinate and inspire the greatest photographers. My exhibition isa homage, not only to the beauty of its people, but their invincible spirit - particularly the poor and homeless. Despite the difficult living conditions, people continue to smile, celebrate, and above all hope. Their eyes tell their enduring storyand my objective is to take it to other people around the world who can be inspired by their strength and perseverance."

Gary has no doubt captured the streets of India through his lens and his soul. Gary combines his passion for photography with his love for travelling. He said, "To capture special moments in unexpected settings has been of great interest to me. Great photo opportunities are everywhere around you. You just need to have an eye for those."
Gary began his career as a photo journalist. Specializing in interiors, architecture, hotels, product, fashion, beauty and food photography, he founded Smart Design with a partner in Austria. This gave him an opportunity to work all over Europe as a commercial photographer. The next step was a branch in Dubai and today his clients range from Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts to Taj Palace Hotel, Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Executive Hotels, Rocco Forte Hotel, Park Regis Kris Kin Dubai, Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, Grand Millennium, WAFI Hospitality to name a few.
