Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) Honors 2011 Meritorious Award Recipient
Timothy J. Kindler of Eastman Kodak Company receives SCIP Meritorious Award for his significant and meritorious contributions to the competitive intelligence profession.
- (1888PressRelease) April 30, 2011 - Each year SCIP recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of one individual who has made significant and meritorious contributions to the strategic and competitive intelligence profession over the years. The Meritorious Award is the highest honor bestowed by the association. Nominated by their fellow members, the Meritorious Award recipients are selected by a committee of their peers. During the selection process, nominees are evaluated against a stringent set of standards, including 1) advanced, nurtured, and promoted the competitive intelligence (CI) profession across disciplines; 2) achieved notable personal accomplishments; and 3) gained recognition and respect from their intelligence peers. This year's Meritorious Award recipient is Timothy J. Kindler of Eastman Kodak.
Mr. Kindler, Director of Competitive Intelligence for the CDG Corporate Business Research at the Eastman Kodak Company, has been a highly visible and positive advocate for the competitive intelligence profession for over 15 years. He has provided leadership service to both SCIP and the Conference Board Council on Competitive Analysis, in this capacity influencing the development and practices of many other company's intelligence professionals and functions.
"I have known Tim personally and professionally for many years and have always been most impressed with his willingness to promote the profession," said Scott Leeb, SCIP Chair and Vice President of Business Intelligence at Prudential Retirement. "Whether by formally speaking at conferences or having informal discussions with colleagues, Tim has always been generous with his time. He is a true evangelist for competitive intelligence, and is committed to making sure it remains a relevant and significant part of the business culture. His selection as the Meritorious Award recipient is well-deserved and acknowledges his continued commitment to the CI profession."
"Tim Kindler had been a leading innovator in the realm of Competitive Intelligence and Strategy for many years," noted Ken Garrison, CEO of SCIP. "He has served as a mentor to many individuals and provided exceptional support to many others he has interacted with directly. Tim is an inspiration to the broader body of the profession."
Mr. Kindler has been unstinting in his support of SCIP and the intelligence profession. He generously shares his view of intelligence and what it can accomplish within corporations through his many writings, presentations and public service. He has also been a guest lecturer on competitive intelligence topics at the University of Notre Dame, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Rochester, and the University of Georgia. "It is truly an honor to be the 2011 recipient of the SCIP Meritorious Award, Tim said. "As I look at the list of those who have received this award in the past, it is wonderful and humbling to be listed alongside these industry legends and luminaries."
Over the last twenty years, the SCIP Meritorious Award has been bestowed on individuals who are noted public advocates of the competitive intelligence field in academia, business, and government. Meet this year's Meritorious Award recipient and 700 other competitive intelligence professionals at the SCIP2011 International Annual Conference and Exhibition, May 9-12, Orlando Fl.
