Stoneham Kick-starts 150th Anniversary celebrations at Grand Designs
Stoneham Kitchens will celebrate it's 150th anniversary with a stand at Grand Designs Live at ExCel in London from 3 to 11 May 2014.
- (1888PressRelease) April 05, 2014 - Established in 1864, Stoneham Kitchens is celebrating a very special birthday this year. To commemorate, it has incorporated 150 years of British manufacturing expertise and heritage into the design of the Stoneham stand at this year's Grand Designs Live exhibition, held at ExCel in London from 3 to 11 May 2014.
Stoneham Kitchens first exhibited at Grand Designs Live in 2009 and has been there every year since. Creating show-stopping kitchen displays that incorporate all the exciting design details and technological elements developed over the years, 2014 is set to be no exception:
"Grand Designs is an excellent opportunity for our designers to show off their skills and create kitchens with the wow-factor," says Managing Director, Adrian Stoneham. "Of course you can expect to see Stoneham's signature curves, but we're also be unveiling some fresh designs too; more geometrical shapes but with all the same attention to detail; flush doors and handle less variants, dovetail joining, clever storage, integral lighting and the latest appliances from Gaggenau."
Stoneham's new Holwood and Darwin designs, with their unique recessed handle detail, will be displayed, alongside a dramatic, sweeping three tier island featuring the latest LED lighting ideas. Stoneham will also be showcasing the new Blum Legrabox drawer system - the latest generation of drawers with impressive weight capacities and superlative running action - which are set to be the drawer of choice by Stoneham for many years to come with a Lifetime Guarantee. With the latest "Natural Touch" wood grain doors and a palette of plain colours presented in the latest Fahrenheit & Fahrenheit Pro designs, there are huge design possibilities for minimalist, affordable kitchens for the modern home.
It's not just the kitchens that will attract customers to this year's display; the 85mē stand will celebrate the rich history of the company with a beautiful timeline that unfolds around the outside walls. Initially turning wooden wheels from a small factory in Deptford, London, the journey from 1864 to the present day is documented in a pictorial timeline highlighting key moments for the company, alongside notable kitchen and design trends, providing a compelling view of the evolution of interior design and the British furniture industry.
The stand will also display some of the fantastic entries of two art and design competitions run by Stoneham for schools in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley; students looked ahead to 2064 to design the Kitchen of the Future and also gave the Stoneham logo a redesign to create a Stoneham Doodle that reflects the company's ethos of quality, longevity and innovation in kitchen design. It seemed only fitting to look forward to another 150 years in business by inspiring a new generation of budding designers and manufacturers.
The Stoneham Kitchens display will be at stand K141 in the Grand Kitchens and Bathrooms area.
