Stevens-Henager College's International Student Education program is aimed at making their transition to this new world as smooth as possible. The program offers assistance for international students for everything from travel plans to visa issues and from housing options to financial planning.
- Salt Lake City-Ogden, UT (1888PressRelease) April 21, 2011 - Each year, thousands of students from across the world come to the United States for post-secondary education. These international students face a unique set of challenges, and Stevens-Henager College's International Student Education program is aimed at making their transition to this new world as smooth as possible.
The program offers assistance for international students for everything from travel plans to visa issues and from housing options to financial planning. Plus, since the cost of living and studying in the U.S. can be overwhelming, especially for students arriving from different backgrounds, Stevens-Henager College also offers international students a cooperative work-study program.
The program, which is open to all students enrolled in a master's degree program at Stevens-Henager College, is a unique opportunity to earn a salary and a degree at the same time. As part of this program, students can work up to 40 hours per week and apply their earned income toward tuition and living expenses.
In order to make this work-study program a success, the Salt Lake City/Murray campus of the college has established contacts with businesses across Utah. The career services department of the college uses these contacts to help international students find appropriate employment opportunities in the area after they complete their first month of study. And because classes at Stevens-Henager College are designed to fit into a busy life, students will find it easy to accommodate their work hours within their daily schedule.
