Stevens-Henager College Hosts "Save Lives, Save Money" Community Event

College partners with American Red Cross and A Thrifty Mom to host community event on June 17. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) June 11, 2011 - Nampa, ID - Stevens-Henager College will host a community event called "Save Lives, Save Money" at its Nampa satellite campus on Friday, June 17. Community members are invited to attend the event to give blood, donate to disaster relief efforts, and even take a class on coupon cutting to save money. Stevens-Henager College will partner with the American Red Cross and A Thrifty Mom for the event.

The event will include a blood drive with a goal of 40 usable units of blood and a donation drive for Red Cross Disaster Relief, which includes T-shirts and American Red Cross jelly bracelets available for sale, with all proceeds donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. "Save Lives, Save Money" will also be collecting canned and non-perishable food items for the Idaho Food Bank. A Thrifty Mom will host a "couponing" class, offering tips on how to maximize coupon cutting to save money.

"This event is a chance for us to give back to the community. We hope 'Save Lives, Save Money' is an event the whole family can enjoy. Not only will we have great opportunities to give back to the community through the blood and food drives, but there will also be food and giveaways from local businesses," said Danielle Horras, associate director at Stevens-Henager College, Boise.

Stevens-Henager College has branch locations in Boise, Idaho Falls (a branch of CollegeAmerica Flagstaff), and Nampa (a satellite of Boise), which offer degree programs. The college also has a College Education Center in Mountain Home that provides support to students enrolled in the online programs offered by Stevens-Henager's Salt Lake City/Murray campus in Utah. Approximately 650 students in the state of Idaho are enrolled in one of the college's business, graphic arts, healthcare, or information technology degree programs.
