  • Boise City, ID (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2011 - Stevens-Henager College hosted "Is Everybody Dancing?" on Tuesday, November 8th. The roundtable was a collaboration point for 35 representatives from business; public and private education; city, state, and federal government; and non-profit organizations. The group discussed the local hiring needs of the Treasure Valley, including whether Treasure Valley Colleges and Universities are meeting the hiring needs of employers. Conversation also included how to respond to the current and forecasted hiring needs for Treasure Valley employers and residents.

    Attendees included representatives from Boise State University, Stevens-Henager College, University of Phoenix, Northwest Nazarene University, Carrington College, J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation, Idaho Education Network, City of Boise, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Idaho Department of Labor, Internet Truckstop, Nampa Chamber of Commerce, PKG User Interface Systems, J.R. Simplot Company, Idaho Technology Council, Idaho Distance Learning Academy, Idaho National Laboratory, U.S. Senator James E. Risch's Office, Idaho State Legislature, U.S. Congressman Raul Labrador's Office, Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, Apple Inc., College of Western Idaho, Idaho Department of Commerce, Select Staffing, and Idaho State Board of Education.

    The roundtable concluded with a discussion of next steps, and an agreement to meet again in late February to move from discussion into action.
