Network Marketing legend Steve Smith, who pioneered the use of network marketing in the deregulated telecommunications industry in the 1990s, announced today the launch of Ampegy, the network marketing affiliate of Houston's Spark Energy.

With the introduction of Ampegy, Smith has aligned himself with Spark Energy Founder & CEO W. Keith Maxwell and Spark Energy Executive Vice President Waters Davis, who also serves as Ampegy's President. Collectively these three executives set a new standard for excellence as they embark on creating what they feel will be the premier network marketing company within the deregulated energy marketplace.

Prior to joining Ampegy as its Chief Marketing Officer, Steve Smith established himself as one of the most successful marketers of our time when, in the 1990's, he pioneered the use of network marketing in the deregulated telecommunications industry with Excel Communications, where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Co-Founder. Under Smith's leadership, Excel's revenues grew to a billion and a half dollars in just seven years, making it the fourth largest long-distance carrier in the nation.
