Steve Guttenberg's "A Novel Romance" Selected as Closing Film of New York Int'l Independent Film Festival May 5th

- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2011 - Exploring the ups and downs of finding love, friendship and success, "A Novel Romance" stars Steve Guttenberg, famed for "Three Men and A Baby," Shannon Elizabeth of "American Pie" success and TV star Milena Govich (Rescue Me/Law & Order). This new romantic comedy was selected as the official closing film of the New York International Independent Film Festival. Red Carpet Premiere Screening is Thursday May 5th at 6pm at Quad Cinema (34 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011) with a post-screening celebration to be held nearby at Bar 13 (35 East 13th Street New York, NY 10003). Cast and Filmmakers will be in attendance and available for interviews.
Known for the "Police Academy" comedies and rumored to have "Three Men and A Bride" in the works with costars Tom Selleck and Ted Danson, Guttenberg shared, "There's something about romantic comedies that always draw me in. Written and directed by Allie Dvorin, (The Sandlot 3, Like Mike 2), "A Novel Romance," (formerly titled Its Not You) follows the lives of two strangers, Nate Shepard (Guttenberg) and Jenny Sparks (Govich). As they meet and travel down similar, complicated-yet-separate life paths, they struggle with relationship heartaches, career troubles and surviving the death of a loved one. Nate and Jenny must ultimately rely on hope to make it through. Kelly Bishop, (Gilmore Girls) Jay O. Sullivan and Doug E. Doug (Cool Runnings) round out the cast.
