When three stars, one an expert in Missile Technology along with a well renowned sculptor and a highly acclaimed Director of Research Laboratory make their presence on an occasion, it is indeed an astronomical phenomenon.
- (1888PressRelease) November 29, 2010 - Way to Transform Shridhar University Pilani in the Shekawati region of Rajasthan has 11 Schools of Learning offering various Certificate, Diploma, Under Graduate, Post Graduate as well as Doctoral programmes. In order to prepare students for a global future, Shridhar University has actively taken up collaborations with various national & international institutions and already has signed MoU with top ranking Athens University of Economics and Business - AUEB, Greece.
Shridhar University which started functioning from November 19, 2009 celebrated its first anniversary "Shridhar Foundation Day" on November 19, 2010 with a stellar constellation of three stars namely Dr A Sivathanu Pillai, Mr Naresh Kumar Kumawat and Dr S Chandra Shekhar.
The Chief Guest for the function was Father of Brahmos Missile, Dr A Sivathanu Pillai - Distinguished Scientist & Chief Controller, Research & Development, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi & Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, BrahMos Aerospace, New Delhi.
Guest of Honour for the function, Mr Naresh Kumar Kumawat of Matu Ram Art Centre is a renowned sculptor well known for the towering statues which include Lord Shiva at Baroda as well as at Mauritius, Lord Buddha at Namchi Sikkim, Lord Ganesha at Talegaon, Pune and many more. His latest work includes that of Lord Hanuman deemed to be world's tallest statue at 108 feet at the highest altitude of over 8,100 feet near Shimla surpassing the current tallest statue of - Christ the Redeemer - which measures 98 feet standing at an altitude of 2,296 feet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
UNESCO / ROSTSCA Young Scientist Award winner in 1986 for contributions in the area of Informatics and Applications of Computers in Scientific Research Dr S Chandra Shekhar presently Director of Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute - CEERI Pilani well known for research in the fields of Microelectronics, VLSI and Embedded Systems was the other guest of honour.
With students from various parts of the country enrolled for different degree programmes, the Shridhar University anniversary celebrations included cultural programmes with focus on national integration apart from Rangoli and Quiz competition in which students from various schools in and around Pilani participated and took inspiration from the stellar constellation.

An initiative of the Sarvhit Trust, Shridhar University Pilani has been established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956 incorporated by Government of Rajasthan vide Ordinance No. 3 of 2009 and the same ratified by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly vide Act No. 4 of 2010 as The SHRIDHAR UNIVERSITY ACT BIGODNA, JHUNJHUNU. Further, Vide letter F.No 8-3/2010(CPP-I/PU) dated 31 May 2010; the University Grants Commission (UGC) has also notified Shridhar University under Section 2(f) of UGC Act 1956.
