Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) January 30, 2012 - The National Steinbeck Center presents the 32nd Annual Steinbeck Festival, to take place on May 3-6, 2012 in Salinas, California, in collaboration with The Woody Guthrie Centennial, a worldwidecelebration with the GRAMMY Museum & the Woody Guthrie Archives, withSteinbeck Festival International Fringe Fest participants in Cebu, Prague, Sag Harbor, Jerusalem, Port-au-Prince, Canberra, Ithaka, Buenos Aires and others.

This year's theme is 'A Voice,' allowing artists to express the various ways in which they tell their stories."An overarching goal of the various activities is to introduce younger audiences to Guthrie's music and remind all listeners of his place in the long history of music as a powerful tool of social change," said GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Robert Santelli in an interview with the L.A. Times.
