STDTS Warp Drive Event To Happen This Year, Inventor Says
The plans are underway for a historic demonstration of the prototype technology for warp drive, according to its inventor, R&D engineer Marshall Barnes.
- (1888PressRelease) January 24, 2012 - Marshall Barnes, research and development engineer who has claimed to have developed the prototype technology for warp drive, has announced that there will be a worldwide viewable event to be held in late fall that will prove that it can accelerate objects faster than the speed of the Earth's gravity. This will be the first open demonstration of the technology which has caused a stir on the internet for several years as some people have seen the technology at work while others have remained skeptical. The technology, called STDTS, will be featured in a worldwide pay-per-view event that will be available on the Internet and possibly cable TV.
The opportunity for a fully integrated sponsor is available that would allow for the event to be commercially branded for posterity, providing for a powerful promotional tool for any company that will be able to pay the unannounced amount which is rumored to be on the level of 30 seconds of Super Bowl ad time but will include more tha a year's worth of active promotional time.
Sources connected to the project have mentioned the possibility of splitting the cost, depending on the companies involved. The STDTS most recently was mentioned in an article online at the Dallas Observer, about Marshall and his appearance at the International Mars Society Conference in Grapevine Texas, last summer. A major campaign is being planned to promote this event, which will not only show a variety of demonstration gravity drops as well as one involving a human, but the science of warp drive itself. It is one of Marshall's contentions that the real science behind warp drive is complicated and many of the ramifications of faster than light travel in space have not been addressed at all by the popular science community.
The city that this event will be held in has not been announced but negotiations with possible sites are said to begin in February. The onsite event will include a concert afterwards that will be filmed for home video release later. The concert will include special production effects never before seen and designed exclusively by Marshall himself.
