State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (SBBJ) opened a new branch at Swasthya Vihar, Vikas Marg, Delhi today as a part of its expansion plan. The branch was inaugurated by Shri B. Sriram, Managing Director of the Bank, in the presence of an august clientele.

SBBJ- one bank amongst the 5 Associates of the State Bank of India had a network of 1040 branches as on 31st March 2013, out of which 35 branches are situated in Delhi/NCR. In order to make a bigger impact, mop up more business & offer its services to a larger section of the population the Bank has plans to add 100 more branches during the current year. Out of these, 7 branches are to be opened in NCR shortly. Out of the remaining 31 branches are to come up in parts of the country other than Rajasthan for which the bank has already obtained authorisation from RBI.
SBBJ came in to existence on 01.01.1963 by amalgamation of Bank of Jaipur Ltd. with Bank of Bikaner Ltd. During its golden jubilee last year, the Bank had the distinction of opening its 1000th branch, which was inaugurated by Shri P. Chidambaram, Finance Minister Government of India making his gracious presence at the Bank's Head Office at Jaipur. SBBJ has crossed a total business of 128412 crores, out of which Delhi & NCR branches contribute more than Rs. 14500 crores. Bank's growth in business during the last financial year had been to the tune of more than Rs. 17200 crores, as per pre audit figures.
State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur has been continuously striving to cater for convenience and comfort of customers through innovative steps like online Banking - whereby sanction of Car Loan is given online in 10 minutes and home loan in 20 minutes. It has been much appreciated by customers, which is seen by the increasing number of such loans. Green Channel innovation minimizes paper use and contributes to the environmental and ecological balance. A customer gets quick grievance redressal through "SMS Unhappy" facility. Bank's lead Management System helps the customers to find support for its requirements. The Bank has major presence in Rajasthan, having branches controlled by 6 Zones under two networks & having the largest market share. Delhi network comprises 3 zones- Delhi, Mumbai and branches headed by AGMs. The bank is fast expanding in areas outside Rajasthan. Seven new branches are being opened in Delhi NCR alone besides several branches in Haryana, Punjab, UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh etc. The branches are duly supported by centralized cells for sanction, disbursement, maintenance of advances. The bank also has TFCPC catering to foreign exchange business and CCPC for speedy clearance of cheques/other instruments functioning at some large centres.
Thus, the Bank is poised for greater participation in the economic & financial growth of the nation.
