- Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2013 - Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr. has spent a lifetime traveling to the ends of the earth in order to find the best views of the most beautiful places on the planet. Now he's sharing these special places with the world with his new website, StandHere.net.
Stand Here guides its users to stunning Viewpoints in locations ranging from Acadia to Zion National Parks, a slew of National Forests and even a few places you wouldn't expect, like the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. These aren't just any hikes within just any parks; they're the most spectacular places in the world as seen through the eyes of a master artist.
Stand Here gives you everything you'll need to know to get to each of these stunning locations, from what airport to fly into to detailed maps showing you just when and where to hike. It also provides all the information you'll need to make your trip a great one, including the best place to lay your head at night and the perfect spot to have breakfast in the morning.
The mission of Stand Here is to guide people to the world's hidden gems and to protect these places so they remain pristine for generations to come. Stand Here helps by educating its users about the value of preserving the world's irreplaceable natural wonders and by donating a portion of the sale of each Viewpoint towards protecting that very place. Not only will Stand Here's users experience the majesty of these locations firsthand, but they'll help preserve each and every one of these national treasures and be part of something great.
Rodney Lough Jr. knows the outdoors like few others do. His family has been traversing the hidden corners of this country since before it was even a country, and he's been hiking and camping the wild places of America since he was just a small boy riding on his father's back. He took up photography not long after, receiving his first camera at the age of 12. Other than a brief detour into the corporate world after college, the natural world has been his life.
Renowned for the vibrant colors and vivid textures of his artwork, Rodney is a purist who seeks to recreate what nature created. His simple mission is to share what he saw, nothing more, so other can experience the same pure joy that only Mother Nature can provide.
Rodney's collection of imagery is unequaled in their breadth of geographic range and sheer beauty. His dedication has earned him, among many other awards, honors from both the United Nations and United States Senate and a Master of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America. He owns the largest single-artist gallery in the world, and his work is part of the Smithsonian's permanent collection.
Rodney is driven, not just by art, but by a profound desire to protect the spectacular places he explores. He believes that experiencing these places of natural wonder, whether in person or through his artwork, enriches the soul. Thus was born Stand Here.net.
