SRO Acquires DataXtend RE from Progress Software Corporation
SRO Solutions Ltd recently announced the acquisition of DataXtend RE (DXRE) from US-based Progress Software Corporation through its sister company DXSTRO Software LLP.
- (1888PressRelease) January 23, 2014 - The DXRE software enables organisations to distribute data from their existing enterprise databases to remote offices and mobile workers, providing corporate-level quality of service all the way to the "edge" of the enterprise where connectivity may be intermittent or unavailable.
Steve Driver, Managing Director of SRO said, "We are delighted with this acquisition as it will allow us to continue developing the solution as well as providing support for the many existing users of the product. Major organisations as diverse as the US Army and Booze Allen Hamilton have utilised DXRE for many years to deliver data securely and reliably to remote locations and personnel."
SRO has been a DXRE user since 2005 as it is at the core of its unique SRO Data Replicator (SDR) solution which enables users of IBM's world-leading asset management solution Maximo to keep data up-to-date at remote locations.
"SDR has customers all over the world from Canada to Australia and this acquisition will allow us to continue to enhance the product as well develop DXRE to be used by other applications operating on all major database platforms such as Oracle, SQL and DB2," said Steve.
"We know with the SDR how effective and reliable DXRE is at replicating data to out-of-the-way places like oil rigs, ships-at-sea and even Antarctica, so by making it more widely available we will be able to help organisations ensure that all their employees have access to the up-to-date data they need to do their jobs effectively and remain competitive."
