The event will be organized in Paseo Colorado located at 280 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA The Sri Lanka foundation is dedicated to promote Sri Lankan culture across the United States and other places globally.
When contacted, a spokesperson from the foundation stated, "We are excited to announce that our annual celebration is on the way and arriving very soon. Every year, Sri Lanka Foundation brings colors, tastes and feel of the Sri Lankan culture for everyone who loves Sri Lanka. We started this event in 2006 and now it's a big name among Sri Lankan lovers." He further added, "Our aim is to preserve Sri Lankan culture among people in United States."
The event will be inviting people who come on a trip to Sri Lanka. The annual Celebration is estimated to have many attractions such as music, traditional food, art, dance, and theatre.One of the most special and major magnetism of this celebration will be the echo of handmade drums. Each drum will be with a different tone. People will get the chance to get a visual feast of beautiful costumes, stunning cloths and decorative jewelry. One can also discover the aromas and spices of curries and conventional sweets while being fascinated by amazing performances of dancers.
According to the sources, in previous years, the event was enjoyed by more than 100,000 visitors. In 2015, the Sri Lanka Day was hosted for the first time in Pasadena and in the same event Sri Lanka Foundation introduced their own dance troupe to perform.
