Squan Attends the Wireless Workforce Summit to Help Redefine the Diverse Workforce of the Future
Private-Public Industry Leaders Meet in White House to Define Skills for Tomorrow's Wireless Workforce.
- (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2015 - Englewood, NJ - Squan, a leading infrastructure service provider, today announces it is collaborating with key leaders across all sectors of the wireless industry, Federal agencies and academic institutions to place a greater focus on building a highly trained, diverse workforce to support the industry's growth. The initiative is currently underway following the Wireless Industry Workforce Development Summit at the White House, attended by Squan CEO Leighton Carroll just last month.
The Department of Labor recognizes the wireless industry as a powerful economic driver. New facilities are emerging to support multiple devices and to provide the faster broadband connections that Americans have come to expect.
"Finding talent to execute this massive build-out of infrastructure safely and with a highly trained workforce is critical," states Leighton Carroll, CEO of Squan.
That is the reason PCIA - The Wireless Industry Association, in conjunction with its partners, the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) and Warriors 4 Wireless (W4W), is working to develop programs designed to prepare the wireless workforce to safely, effectively and efficiently build, upgrade, maintain, and operate wireless infrastructure.
"It is a great opportunity as an industry to come together with the Federal Government as well as leaders from U.S. wireless companies and academic institutions to discuss bringing our returning veterans and other skilled workers into the wireless workforce, as well as how to improve overall wireless workforce safety," adds Carroll.
