SPX India shows ray of hope for small medium businesses
Both the leather and auto components industry of India have made a reputation both nationally and internationally. And to add to this success, SPX India along with UNIDO, has taken an initiative to help SMB's in industrial subcontracting.
- (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2010 - SPX India offers the chance to small and medium subcontracting industries the opportunity to tie up with international companies that require automotive components or raw and processed leather and footwear. The leather and the automobile industries are names that hold the top position in Indian economy.
Footwear manufacturing in India and the Indian leather industry are perhaps the oldest industries that have acclaimed international fame. But even then most small to medium scaled industries do not have the requisite infrastructure, or mediums through which they can get associated with big international brands to promote their products.
Similarly there are various auto component companies India, who may produce the best and cheap automobile components, but lack in acquiring global contacts. The Industrial subcontracting and partnership exchange or SPX; a project of UNIDO in India, was therefore launched in June 2007 under the 'consolidated project for SME Development in India'. It is being financed by the Italian government.
SPX India has been formed with a view to assist international companies find competent subcontractors in India, who can manufacture and process spare parts, equipments, leather goods etc. These subcontracting companies can be automotive system suppliers in India or manufacturers of leather goods for ladies, men's, children's shoes, leather sandals, upper etc.
SPX has set up main offices in Chennai, Pune, and Gurgaon and has created an informative database on small and medium businesses. With the help of this database, they are now helping small subcontractors to get in touch with big international companies and acquire business globally and thereby increase productivity. SPX can be said to be a matchmaking center for industrial subcontracting and also helps in the partnership of buyers and sellers.
Their database has been created after personally visiting more than 650 small and medium sub subcontractors of India. It includes industrial subcontracting Chennai India, footwear components, Pune and Gurgaon, Indian automobile components Gurgaon, Pune Chennai and leather industry of Chennai, Ranipet and Ambur districts.
