Springboard Capital Limited appoints David Hammond to lead Renewable Energy Investment Division
HONG KONG - Springboard Capital Limited has announced the appointment of David Hammond to spearhead the investment initiatives within their Renewable Energy Investment Division.
- (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2025 - David Hammond, who will be based in Hong Kong, is expected to travel extensively throughout the region and his responsibilities will include sourcing, executing, and managing renewable infrastructure assets across the Asia Pacific region and the Sub-Continent. He will report directly to Mr. Graham Lancaster, the Chief Executive Officer of Springboard Capital Limited.
Prior to joining Springboard Capital Limited, Mr. Hammond served as the Global Head of Renewable Energy at Alliance Trust in London, where he was instrumental in establishing the Renewable Income platform that currently manages over US$2.2 billion in capital. Under his leadership, the platform invested in wind and solar projects across various European markets.
In response to his new role, Mr. Hammond expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I am thrilled to join Springboard Capital, where I will lead a team focused on identifying opportunities in renewable energy infrastructure. Currently, the region accounts for 44% of global onshore wind capacity and nearly 60% of global solar generation capacity. According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, over 70% of new power generation investments in Asia Pacific, amounting to US$3.5 trillion, are projected to be directed towards renewable sources by 2040.
