The Charity Learning Consortium, which enables cost-effective eLearning in the Third Sector, is holding its next seminar on 11 May in London, when the RSPCA will be talking about eLearning within the well known animal welfare charity.
- (1888PressRelease) April 01, 2011 - The Charity Learning Consortium (CLC) is holding a seminar in London on 11 May, when the RSPCA will be talking about eLearning at the much loved animal welfare charity.
The RSPCA is currently centralising its eLearning offering, moving onto a Moodle platform, and is relaunching its eLearning suite later this Spring. It's a collaborative project between the IT and HR, Learning & Development departments at the charity. Sean Cooter, Applications Support Manager at the RSPCA, will be talking at the seminar about the challenge of 'engaging' more than 1,500 members of staff, at multiple locations across England and Wales.
"It's a really exciting time for online learning at the RSPCA. We achieved positive results from our first iteration of online learning, enabling our staff to learn 'anytime, any place, anywhere' and anticipate our relaunch to continue this success" said Sean.
Sean will be introduced by Martin Baker, Managing Director and founder of the Charity Learning Consortium, who is passionate about bringing cost effective eLearning to the Third Sector. Martin was named one of the top ten most influential people in eLearning in the UK earlier this year.
Martin Baker and Wendy Stanley, Head of Membership at the CLC, will explain how joining the Charity Learning Consortium helps to spread the cost of eLearning, and will talk about the many benefits of the CLC's collaborative approach. CLC Courseware and the Learning Management System will also be on display.
Martin Baker commented: "I'm really looking forward to hearing about the exciting developments within eLearning at the RSPCA, and also to sharing information about the great collaborative work that the CLC is doing - collaboration is at the heart of everything that we do."
Third Sector organisations who would like to find out more about the CLC, which makes eLearning available to almost 100,000 employees amongst more than 80 charity members, are welcome to attend. Please click here to request a place at this free seminar.

About the RSPCA:
The RSPCA is a registered charity which only exists because of public donations - the annual running costs (around £124 million in 2008) are funded almost entirely by donations and legacies.
The charity rehomes more animals than any other organisation in England and Wales.
On average every 30 seconds someone dials the RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty line for help.
The charity has 288 RSPCA inspectors, 119 animal welfare officers and 74 animal collection officers working to prevent cruelty and promote kindness to animals in England and Wales. They work at a network of 169 RSPCA branches, collaborating with other animal welfare organisations abroad through international team.
Four RSPCA animal hospitals and five clinics treat pets belonging to members of the public who can't afford private veterinary fees. The charity also has 37 clinics and three mobile clinics run by branches. Sixteen regional animal centres help people adopt pets - an additional 40 animal centres are run by branches.
