5MinuteMystery.com launched in October of 2008 to rave reviews. What makes its stories unique is the method of solving the mysteries. Readers must identify the distinct sentences in the story that incriminate or exonerate each suspect to find the guilty party. Points are awarded for correct selections. Among its other accomplishments, it was featured on ABC News' nationwide TechBytes feature in November of 2008.
While popular with a diverse audience, 5MinuteMystery.com has developed a large following among homeschoolers who use it to teach reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Now, a new website named HisPrayerJournal.com has agreed to sponsor all new basic subscribers to 5MinuteMystery.com. This has the effect that 5MinuteMystery.com is now free to all users.
In a related announcement, 5MinuteMystery.com has announced that they are also adding a premium service to the site, which includes Lesson Plans. These lesson plans will aid educators and homeschoolers in using 5MinuteMystery.com to build reading comprehension, critical thinking and creative writing skills.
Current subscribers have been upgraded to this premium service. There will be a small charge for new subscribers who wish to purchase a premium account. The plan is to add additional premium services to the site in the near future.
