Formerly housed at the famous Miyagi’s on Sunset, Spoken Funk, along with its official media partner, 102.3 KJLH, prepares for its transition to The World Famous Hollywood Improv. July 1st will mark the first show at Spoken Funk’s new home. Spoken Funk is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s “hot spots,” the place to be and be seen.. At any given night one can find themselves in the company of Stevie Wonder, Shawn Wayans, Tony Rock, Stan Lathan, Wood Harris, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Saul Williams and other A – List celebrities. Hollywood Improv’s full compliment of entrees and spirits are available throughout the show. Spoken Funk compliments Hollywood Improv’s great ambiance and menu with a soulful, intellectual and down right hilarious show.

Spoken Funk took Hollywood by storm in 2006 and continues to elevate in stature in 2007. With returning acts such as TONY AWARD WINNING poets, Mayda Del Valle, Georgia Me, and Beau Sia, as well as comics, Tony Rock, Rodney Perry, A.J Jamal, Rodman, and Shang already set to burn the Spoken Funk stage again, artists new to the “Funk House” will hold their own as well. An open mic opens the show to give all a chance to shine, and Tony Award winning host and creator of Spoken Funk, Poetri infuses the show with insightful poetry and gut busting laughter.
