Florence Ballard Biopic "Blondie" To Be Directed By Martha Coolidge.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2010 - Spirit of Life Films, LLC has secured the critically acclaimed Martha Coolidge (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge) to direct "BLONDIE: The Florence Ballard Story" which will star Grammy Award winning R&B songstress Faith Evans as the lead. The biopic about perhaps the most infamous member of the widely beloved Motown recording artists; The Supremes, is slated for a fall, 2011 release.
Lauded for her ability to eloquently translate the essence of mood, emotion and writer's messages onto the big screen, Martha Coolidge is best known for directing the multiple Emmy Award winning Introducing Dorothy Dandridge that starred Academy Award recipient Halle Berry. Her works also include; If These Walls Could Talk II, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Shark, Psych, Weeds and Sex And The City series. Spirit of Life Films Vice President and the film's Executive Producer Karen Spencer is passionate about telling the real story of Florence Ballard with the direction of such a respected Hollywood veteran.

With Coolidge at the helm, Faith Evans will lead a cast of A-list actors to tell the compelling and highly anticipated story of the founder of the Supremes. The screenplay, written by Karen Spencer and Roy Fegan, is based on former Detroit Free Press writer Peter Benjaminson's book; "The Lost Supreme". Benjaminson was the last person to extensively interview Florence Ballard, his work, and now the Spirit of Life film will give millions of fans candid insight into her life told directly from Ballard herself. Pre-Production for "Blondie" begins early 2011.
