Spirit Of Giving To Receive Inaugural Martens Award Honoring Extraordinary Service In The Community

- West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2015 - WHO: Boca Raton-based nonprofit Spirit of Giving will be receiving the inaugural Martens Award presented by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties at the Martens Award Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.
Spirit of Giving unites more than 60 nonprofits in Palm Beach County to help facilitate and create programs and alliances that promote lasting change in the community.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is a charitable endowment that strives to meet the changing needs of the community. Since its founding in 1972, The Community Foundation has provided more than $100 million in grants in scholarships in Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
WHAT: The Martens Award, named after beloved philanthropist Marie Graber Martens, is awarded to organizations who demonstrate extraordinary service in the community. The inaugural luncheon will celebrate philanthropy in Southern Palm Beach County, including a brief history of the Community Foundation and a keynote address by Barbara M. Schmidt of the Schmidt Family Foundation and founder of Spirit of Giving.
