Specialty wire and cable company now stocking various sizes of tray cable.
Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2009 - When it comes to functionality and diversity tray cable stands out as a unique product in the specialty wire and cable industry. Tray cable can be found everywhere from inside buildings and factories to outdoor applications. It is approved for installation aerially with a messenger, in conduits, ducts and cable trays. It is also suitable for installation in wet and dry locations. This type of versatility translates into various industries.
“Distributor Wire & Cable has always prided itself on having a local inventory that’s diversified enough to meet the needs of our customers. We receive numerous requests for tray cable so it was an easy decision to increase our stock on both circuit and power sizes.” commented Bryce Huett, owner of Distributor Wire & Cable Company.
Tray cable is often referred to as VNTC which stands for Vinyl Nylon Tray Cable. VNTC is made up of THHN or TFN insulation with a PVC jacket and is typically rated for 600 volts and 90 Celsius. VNTC is by far the most common form of tray cable on the market however it’s not the only one. Other forms include instrumentation and process control versions that are constructed of shielded pairs and triads. These products are distinguishable based on their voltage size of either 300V or 600V. The 300 volt option is known as PLTC, or power limited tray cable, while the VNTC version is 600 volts.
“We have made it a point to stock a variety of sizes in both the 600 volt and 300 volt power limited tray cable styles. I think the popularity of tray cable stems from its ease of use as well as its various applications. We’ve made a conscious effort to cover the bases when it comes to this product.” said Nash Flores, logistics manager.
