San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) January 10, 2012 - Specialty Home Improvement, a family-owned design and remodel firm recently earned two Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). The CotYs were awarded for "Best Interior Residential Specialty Remodel" and for "Best Bathroom Remodel between $30,000 - $60,000".

According to the NARI website, "The Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards are given each year by NARI Headquarters to members who have demonstrated outstanding work through their remodeling projects." The awards help to further distinguish Specialty Home Improvement (SHI) as a remodeling agency capable of organizing, designing and building projects that industry leaders in the design community feel are worthy of recognition.

The award-winning interior remodel project consisted of recreating the old world feel of a traditional wine "grotto" beneath the stairwell of a custom estate in Rancho Santa Fe. The SHI team was up to the task, adding a beautiful split faced travertine stone finish to each opening of the grotto for the ultimate reminiscent feel of old world charm.

SHI's second CotY award was earned for a master bath remodel in San Marcos that incorporated many elegant features the client had experienced in luxury hotels throughout his global travels. Among the extensive renovations, SHI installed a special-order tub, created an open-space shower, accented the center wall with a massive black mosaic, and added an HD television and acoustic speakers that the client can enjoy while in the tub or shower.
