Special Technical Communities Now Available to Increase Networking Opportunities

  • (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2014 - LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - These self-sustaining online communities are intended to unite computing professionals (including students) who share common technical, geographic, career, or other interests. Participation in the Special Technical Communities is also intended to help drive new technologies and create knowledge in the particular field of interest.

    "These communities provide a meeting place to have discussions, develop materials, and share information about a focused topic," said Special Technical Communities Chair Christian Timmerer, an assistant professor at Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria. "Most of the activities are carried out online, which allows participation from around the globe and exposure to leaders in the field."
