Special Materials Company SMC to Increase Sodium Cyanide Prices
Special Materials Company (SMC) will raise the prices of Sodium Cyanide used in the gold mining industry due to changes in the market price of gold.
- (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2013 - New York - Special Materials Company announced today that effective June 1st, 2013 it will increase the price of its sodium cyanide grades to all its customers by $0.10/LB ($0.22/KG). The increase is necessary due to current market conditions driven by the continued high prices of gold.
According to SMC officials, "We continue to work very hard to offer our customers products at affordable prices and will always continue to investigate strategies to minimize price increases."
Special Materials Company maintains inventory of all their cyanide salts at its owned-and-operated facility in Kershaw, SC. This allows SMC to maintain complete control of the security and supply chain management of this hazardous product.
