Southwest Network Partners with Genoa Healthcare to Open Third Pharmacy

- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ (1888PressRelease) September 02, 2020 - In its continued expansion to provide one-stop, fully integrated healthcare, Southwest Network is opening a third full-service pharmacy. The new pharmacy, located inside its Estrella Vista location in Phoenix, will be operated through a partnership with Genoa Healthcare.
The pharmacy will be open exclusively to Southwest Network’s Estrella Vista members, offering them convenience and time savings by getting their prescriptions filled at the same place they obtain physical and mental healthcare services. They will also be able to get flu, shingles, pneumonia, and other immunizations. This is especially beneficial for members with transportation challenges or those in acute/special assistance categories, as easier access can help improve health and adherence to medication regimens.
The new pharmacy will be run by a full-time pharmacist and pharmacy technician from Genoa Healthcare and accept a wide range of insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. It is scheduled to open September 8 with operating hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Two other pharmacies, situated at Southwest Network’s Osborn and Saguaro locations, were opened earlier this year.
“Our partnership with Genoa allows our members, providers, and nurses enhanced timeliness and quality, and a broader range of services. Our members may now have all of their medications from each of their doctors filled at Estrella Vista.” said Dr. Andrew Mebane, Chief Medical Officer of Southwest Network.”
“This ability permits oversight by the pharmacy staff and our own providers of all the active medications,” added Mebane. “Such ‘medication reconciliation’ increases safety and prevents potential side effects when medications are coming from different providers. We hope all of our members at Estrella Vista take advantage of this newly enhanced quality process.”
