Southern Ocean Medical Center Welcomes New Obstetrician Gynecologist
Southern Ocean Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Obstetrician-Gynecologist Alma Bustamante, M.D. to its Medical Staff.
- (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2012 - Manahawkin, NJ - Dr Bustamante completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ and internship at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center -New York Medical College, Bronx Program.
She earned her medical degree at the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center, Philippines. She underwent a four-year ob-gyn residency at St Luke's Medical Center, Philippines. She brings in her experience as an attending and clinical faculty in ob-gyn before immigrating to the US. Prior to starting her US residency, she had an externship in Family Medicine at St Clare's Hospital, Schenectady, NY and a preceptorship in Ob-Gyn at Our Lady of Mercy, now Montefiore Medical Center, Wakefield Campus, Bronx, NY.
During residency she received recognition as Best Resident Research Paper. She also did a mini-fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in PA.
Dr Bustamante's professional interests are general obstetrics and gynecology, laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic surgery, reproductive health, women's preventive health and medical problems during pregnancy.
She has joined the practice of the SOMC Medical Group in Forked River located at 730 Lacey Road, Suite G08 and appointments can be made by calling 609-693-2900.
