Southern Food and Music Festival at The Ponds Sponsored In Part by HHHunt Homes.
- (1888PressRelease) May 04, 2012 - Summerville, South Carolina - Sponsored in part by HHHunt Homes, the Southern Flame Southern Food and Music Festival at The Ponds was a smashing success again this year. Proceeds from the annual fundraising event - previously known as "BBQ-4-Baseball - benefited the Summerville Miracle League (SML), the local franchise of the international non-profit organization. SML is committed to providing children with special needs the opportunity to play baseball, and to enjoy the thrill of "America's favorite pastime" much like their mainstream peers.
From 11 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st, nearly 1,100 event guests gathered together for great food, music, fun and fellowship at The Ponds - a picturesque master-planned community rooted in rich local history. The Southern Barbeque Network judged 19 teams during a sanctioned barbeque competition. The Southern Food Tasting and Competition brought six local restaurants to the table, with "People's Choice" honors awarded. Guests also enjoyed live bluegrass music by Boundless, DD Cumbee and Common Ground; as well as southern rock music by event headliner Eddie Bush and The Mayhem.
A renowned mid-Atlantic homebuilder and team builder within The Ponds, primary event sponsor HHHunt Homes was on hand to provide information about the popular "destination" community, as well as about its award-winning product line. Visitors to the HHHunt Homes booth also received great giveaways including mini-flashlights, pens, hand sanitizers and sunscreen. Door prizes were announced throughout the day by representatives of Greenwood Communities and Resorts, developer of The Ponds.
"The Southern Flame Festival is an outstanding fundraising event for a very worthwhile cause. Attendance is great each year because guests and sponsors understand the importance of giving back to our community and its families," said Amber King, regional marketing director for HHHunt Homes. "We were thrilled to be involved, and we couldn't be more excited for the kids. The funds raised will go a long way for field and facilities maintenance, as well as uniforms. The Summerville Miracle League has worked hard and accomplished so much."
Founded in Rockland, Georgia, The Miracle League has expanded its presence to an international platform.
