- (1888PressRelease) December 02, 2011 - Columbia, SC - This holiday season Dr. Energy Saver Columbia is committing to more than helping homeowners conserve heat and energy, and are dividing a $10,000 donation among three prominent charities: American Red Cross, SC Mountains to Midlands Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and United Way of Kershaw County.
The energy expert's charitable giving this season is being coined as their Energy Elves holiday campaign, "The Energy Elves Are Coming to Town: Help Us Give Back This Holiday Season."
The campaign allows people to vote for their favorite of the above listed charities, using the Dr. Energy Saver website. The voting will begin on December 1 and will conclude on December 25, 2011. Once votes are tallied, they will award a first place prize of $7,000, a second place prize of $2,000 and a third place prize of $1,000, by Friday December 30, 2011.
While anyone can vote, there are some guidelines: voters can only vote once per day and a vote is only considered valid if the voter completes a voting form on the Dr. Energy Saver Columbia voting system, found on their website.
Dr. Energy Saver Columbia, owned by William Cantey, is a growing force in the home improvement industry. As this local franchisee becomes more renowned in the local area, the more resources and opportunities it has available to give back locally.
"My wife, Catherine, and I are very excited to be able to give back to our community and help others. We decided since we were going to be sharing this money with local charities, we might as well develop a fun competition creating charity awareness with local homeowners and businesses. We want this to be the kickoff of more contributions to the local community," said Cantey.
Cantey continues to provide more ways to give back, as he has also opened the door for the charities to receive an additional $50 per homeowner who schedule a home energy audit with Dr. Energy Saver Columbia through this Energy Elves campaign. A homeowner just needs to mention one of the charity names when scheduling their home energy audit. This referral will count towards the charity to later receive an additional $50 per energy audit referral.
