South Bay Ballet Students Awarded Spectacular Summer Opportunities

  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2010 - As in years past, South Bay Ballet is well represented as its talented youth embark upon a summer full of learning and growing in their chosen art form.

    Artistic Director Diane Lauridsen and Assistant Artistic Director Candice Davis are pleased to announce that 63 placements have been awarded to 21 South Bay Ballet students, many of whom were accepted into multiple programs this summer. Additionally, several senior and junior company members were honored with full or partial scholarship opportunities.

    Company members receiving full and partial scholarship awards include:

    Skylar Kolby Burson receiving full scholarship to Milwaukee Ballet, and acceptance to Houston Ballet and Boston Ballet
    Audrey Crabtree-Hannigan awarded partial scholarship to Milwaukee Ballet and acceptance to Houston Ballet
    Emily Farris receiving full scholarship to Kansas City Ballet
    Daisy Jacobson awarded partial scholarship to Houston Ballet, and acceptance to Boston Ballet, ABT Alabama, and Milwaukee Ballet
    Tracy Jones receiving full scholarship to St. Louis Ballet
    Tessia Lane receiving full scholarships to Sacramento Ballet - Trainee Position, Joffery Ballet Contemporary/Jazz, Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Nouveau Colorado, scholarships to Boston Conservatory and Oberlin College, and acceptance to Alvin Ailey, Boston Ballet, Fordham University/Ailey BFA, and Atlanta Ballet - Professional Division
    Mayu Odaka awarded full scholarship to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and acceptance to ABT New York
    Regina Park-Suh receiving full scholarship to Orlando Ballet and acceptance to Washington Ballet
    John-Paul Simoens awarded full scholarship to USA/International Ballet
    Sydney Smith receiving scholarship to University of Arizona BFA, and acceptance to UCSB BFA, Arizona State University BFA, San Diego State University BFA, and UC Irvine BFA.
