SOURIAU Announces New micro38999 Connector line
Lightweight Connector Option Delivers High Performance in a Compact Footprint.
- (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2010 - Engineers designing electronic components for military and aerospace applications face a common challenge: delivering maximum performance in the smallest space possible. Now, there's a new option to help them address that challenge, following the release of the SOURIAU micro38999 connector line.
Based on MIL-DTL-38999, this new connector line delivers some significant advantages: They're up to 50% shorter, have a diameter that's up to 40% smaller and provide up to 3x weight savings, when compared to the smallest MIL-DTL38999 Series III units. That means these connectors are well suited for the new generation of tactical radio, UAV, infantry, C4ISR and industrial instrumentation applications where space and weight are increasingly limited.
micro38999 connectors are available in threaded, breakaway and bayonet coupling configurations. They can be manufactured in size 3, 5 and 7 shells and can be configured with 3, 5, 6 or 9 copper alloy contacts. The micro38999 connector's electrical crimp, M39029 style contacts can also be easily removed, enabling users to wire and un-wire connectors directly on site. These connectors are manufactured with either stainless steel (passivated) or aluminum shells (with zinc/nickel, nickel or olive drab cadmium plating) and feature a high-grade thermoplastic insulator.
Built to provide reliable performance under harsh environmental conditions, micro38999 connectors from SOURIAU withstand vibration testing at 44 grms @ 125º C for eight hours and shock testing of 300g, 3ms. micro38999 connectors perform reliably in temperatures ranging from -55º C to 175º C.
