SonoSite's MicroMaxx(R) ideal for East Lancashire's Musculoskeletal Service
The East Lancashire PCT Musculoskeletal Service relies on two MicroMaxx® point-of-care ultrasound systems for diagnosis and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal injuries at its primary healthcare centres.
- (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2011 - The combination of portability and user-friendliness is proving ideal for the Musculoskeletal Service's workload, as Educational Lead Dr Tony Mitchell, GPwSI, explained: "I use the system for assessment and treatment of a wide range of non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions, and the ability to scan in the clinic provides valuable extra information for diagnosis. It is a useful diagnostic aid for suspected rotator cuff tears, identification of calcification and bursitis, and for Achilles and patella tendons. I also use it for guiding small joint injections - in the wrist and hand - and guiding carpal tunnel injection."
