Sonicjam Launches Virtual Karaoke Machine
SonicJam, the Cupertino based technology solutions company, announced today the launch of sonicjam.com - a virtual, interactive music performance and scoring platform.
- (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2011 - CUPERTINO, CA - From Aberdeen, Washington to Zephyrhills, Florida from American Idol to the X Factor, Karaoke, the art form where performers sing accompanied by a taped or digital soundtrack, has gone viral as thousands of armature and professional wanabees flock to numerous online sites to record and save their performance or wait in line for hours hoping to be one of the selected few chosen to perform live on television and a chance to add their name to the growing list of singing phenoms like Susan Boyle, Justin Bieber and the superbly gifted Jackie Evancho.
At sonicjam.com users exercise a variety of performance options from selecting speakers or headphones to having their performances saved to YouTube. And, unlike most CD dependent karaoke machines, each SonicJam user's karaoke presentation is compared to the selected artist's original performance and is scored for Pitch, Rhythm and Quality. A seemingly endless song list sorted by artist and title assures that users will find their favorite performance track.
"SonicJam scores a singers performance in real time," said Ed Brennan, CEO of SonicJam, Inc. "The scoring dynamic adds a certain live and competitive edge to the user's singing while the constructive feedback means a singer can rehearse and perform in the privacy of their own home."
Although Forester Research reports a sharp down turn in the sale of music-based game titles as karaoke aficionados complain about poorly manufactured players, limited song lists and high prices, online karaoke participation is growing. According to SocialBakers more than 4,300 FaceBook users are involved in some type of weekly paid karaoke activity.
By contrast, SonicJam is free and Social Media friendly. "The ability to save your performance on YouTube adds a social media dynamic not available on other 'you must save your song here' karaoke sites", said David Welsh, VP of Marketing.
Over the next several months SonicJam will launch a variety of new and expanded features including language, genre, and music notation options.
