Emerging singer Serenity Stewart released her premiere album, P.S. I Love You, through American Rewind Records June 15th, 2012. The album is a compilation of classic songs from the 1930s and '40s, and redefines a bygone era, which was a decade of a world war, economic recovery, unity and invention.
Combining retro-glamour with a modern sensibility, Stewart pays homage to the great singer/songwriters of the 1930s and '40s in her covers of classic songs by Duke Ellington, Hoagy Carmichael, and Redd Evans, among others. Her record is described as being a love-letter to a bygone era full of romance, heartbreak and social change.
More than merely capturing the spirit of the Great Depression, Stewart's album is a work of deep personal significance. Drawing on her experiences as a single parent, an award-winning actress and a health care professional, she infuses her music with raw emotion and characteristic charm.
Though she has been singing since the age of eight, Stewart has only recently embarked on a jazz career, devoting the past eighteen months to the creation and production of the album, P.S. I Love You.
Stewart's past credits include a starring role in "Murder by Proxy" and a stint as the lead vocalist at the Arizona-based Voices of the Desert. She has also won the prestigious Kiwanis Silver Medal for Best Supporting Actress during her time on the stage, and she remains a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
"Recording this album has been a truly powerful experience. The songs I chose for this album were those that I loved and that have inspired me since I was a child. This album is my love letter to my fans as well as all the lovers of America's greatest generation," stated Serenity.
Serenity Stewart is under the management of Tony Felice PR and Image Management, a Phoenix headquartered publicity firm with a no-nonsense approach to image management. "As a fan of 1940's music and the passion and feeling for the time period that Serenity delivers in her music is enough to make anyone smile. Her voice is well suited for this genre and I am sure any songwriter would be honored to have her sing their songs," explains Tony Felice.
Stewart's album is currently available for purchase on iTunes and is on ReverbNation. Stewart hopes that her unique sound and story will resonate with listeners of all ages and connect them to the music of the past while encouraging them to look forward to the future.
