About Sombrero Mexican Food
The "San Diego-style" restaurant we know today as Sombrero Mexican Food first opened its doors in the summer of 1984, at its original location at the corner of Montezuma and El Cajon Boulevard. Javier, the CEO and founder, grew up in the restaurant business and decided to reopen what was his parent's old taco-shop as a new, quick-service restaurant with authentic Mexican food. By using many of the original authentic recipes, providing dine-in restaurant quality, and quick & friendly customer service, Javier began his dream of creating what Sombrero Mexican Food has become today. With 19 locations in California and now Texas, Javier can be proud of the growth of this restaurant that he is responsible for.
